KHAIRPUR: Two sons of a Pakistan Muslim League-Functional councilor were killed and six others injured in the exchange of gunfire between two rival groups near Thari Mirwah. Thari Mirwah police said that an armed clash between two groups of Bhambhan community in Liaqat Ali Arain village resulted in the deaths of Jamshed Ali Arain and Waheed Arain, sons of Liaquat Ali Arain. Six others were also injured in the incident. The bodies of the deceased and the injured were shifted to Thari Mirwah Hospital.
Liaqat Ali Arain said that the incident was the result of a petty feud between two rival groups. Thari Mirwah police lodged an FIR against six allegedly involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, Mirpur Methalo police said that a young man identified as Riaz Ali lost his life, whereas, another person identified as Shahzeb Arain sustained injuries when a truck hit their motorcycle near National Highway. Local police transported the dead body and the injured to a local hospital. The truck driver was arrested.
Separately, the Sindh High Court Sukkur bench, hearing Ayub Kandhro’s missing case, has ordered the police to lodge an FIR against Senior Superintendent of Police Khairpur Ghulam Azafar Mahesar and former Station House Officer Aslam Leghari, of Tando Masti police station.
