PM announces compensation for Gwadar victims

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair said on Sunday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced Rs 1 million and Rs 500,000 compensation each for the victim families of the killed and injured people, respectively, who were attacked by gunmen near Gwadar in Balochistan. All of the victims belong to village Huzoor Bux located near Naushehro Feroz in Sindh.

“The prime minister has termed the attack a conspiracy to sabotage CPEC project and vowed to foil it,” the governor said in a statement. A FIR has been registered against unknown assailants who killed 10 laborers on behalf of injured laborer Qadir Bakhsh at Gwadar levies station.

Ten workers were shot dead and one injured when the gunmen riding bikes opened fire on them at two separate construction sites, three kilometers away from each other, along the same road. The gunmen fled after attacks.
