KHYBER AGENCY: To pay homage to the teachers’ community, International Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Bara Tehsil of Khyber Agency. To mark the event, an event was organised with the assistance of Governor Special Development Program (GSDP) in Government Boys High School, Bara on Thursday. The attendees included: Political Agent (PA) Khyber Khalid Mehmood as the chief guest, Assistant Political Agent (APA) Bara Arshad Afridi, political officials, tribal elders, teachers, students and their families.

Speaking at the occasion PA Khyber Khalid Mehmood said that teachers were the spiritual parents of the students who not only impart knowledge to students but also prepare them to compete with different challenges of life.

Highlighting the role of teachers, the administration’s top official said, “A teacher is that person who has set aside all his desires to make the youth useful citizens of the country.”

A pivotal reason of the developed world’s progress is that they value their teachers highly, Mehmood said. He urged the student community to respect their teachers as they respect their parents.

To conclude the ceremony, the chief guest presented awards and appreciation letters to teachers on their performance.
