Local PPP leader shot dead

KHAIRPUR: A local leader of Pakistan People’s Party, Muhammad Sachal Metlo, was shot dead by armed men in Talo Bhando village, said Ahmedpur police. Metlo was rushed to Khairpur Hospital but did not survive. Local police claimed the cause of murder to be an ongoing feud between two groups of the Metlo community. In other news, the police were unable to find a high school student missing for a week. Muhammad Asif Shaikh went missing last week from the jurisdiction A-section police station. In a similar incident, two high school students, Sadam Hussain and Ali Ansari, were reported missing by concerned family members.

Banking court issues non-bailable warrants: Banking Court Sukkur issued non-bailable warrants of 12 landlords of Khairpur, including six women. The court ordered the police to arrest the 12 alleged bank loan defaulters and produce them before court.

ACE raids municipal committee office: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Shikarpur raided Municipal Committee Shikarpur’s Office and confiscated records for the fiscal year 2016-17, over alleged misappropriations. The raids were conducted by ACE Shikarpur Circle Officer Abdul Wahab Buriro in the presence of 4th Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Shikarpur Naveed Ahmed Suhito.
