‘Judiciary to hold the corrupt accountable’

Author: By Our Correspondent

LARKANA: The so-called democratic governments after General Zia’s regime ruthlessly looted the country and weakened fundamental institutions of the state to remain in power, said Sindh National Front Vice Chairman (SNF) Ameer Bakhsh Bhutto at a party workers’ convention of Qambar Shahdadkot. Bhutto said that the judiciary in the country was discharging its constitutional duties effectively for the first time in history and expressed hope that it would lead to a proper accountability process of everyone, starting from the leaders in Islamabad and Punjab. He said that the federal government had lost its moral and political credibility to remain in power, after the disqualification of its leader Nawaz. The SNF leader said that under current circumstances, the central government should turn to people and seek a fresh mandate. He said that the Sindh rulers also needed to be held accountable, as most of the people in the provincial government are thieves and looters.
