MULTAN: Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Multan on Thursday.
According to details, CTD personnel raided a building near Sher Shah Band in Multan after reports that four to five terrorists were present in the area. “Militants opened fire on the security personnel. When security forces returned fire, two terrorists were killed. Three others managed to escape from the scene,” a CTD spokesman said. The spokesman said that the dead terrorists belonged to a banned outfit. He said that the terrorists were planning to carry out attacks on security forces and sensitive installations. The spokesman said that the law enforcement agencies had also seized three hand grenades, a rifle and a pistol from the dead terrorists.
Pamphlets: The Special Police Unit (SPU) arrested two members of a banned outfit with pamphlets during a crackdown on Thursday.
On a tip-off, the SPU conducted an operation in Charsadda Chowk in Mardan district. During the operation, two members of a banned outfit, including Azizuddin hailing from Afghanistan, were arrested with pamphlets.
