PESHAWAR: Over five people sustained injuries and 20 shops were damaged as a fire broke out in Peshawar’s Taj Market of Karkhano on Saturday.

According to a spokesperson for Rescue 1122, the fire took dozens of shops in its folds as soon as it broke out.

However, the inferno was extinguished in two-and-a-half hours after firefighters reached the site.

The reason behind the fire has been stated to be a short circuit.
