NCHD focusing on rehabilitation of quake victims

MANSEHRA: The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) is focusing on timely rehabilitation of the earthquake victims, Dr Nasim Ashraf, the NCHD chairman said on Sunday.

According to a press release, Ashraf said that the rehabilitation process was a difficult task but the NCHD was trying to complete the process soon. The NCHD would accelerate the pace of rehabilitation work to keep the earthquake victims safe from cold. Addressing a public gathering at Devli Jabbar, Mansehra, the chairman vowed to take along Devli Jabbar union council in all aspects of the rehabilitation work, including education, health, shelters, re-establishment of small and medium businesses and basic services.

The chairman also visited a field hospital in Nalla Jabbar, Mansehra, where more than 6,342 patients have so far been examined. A 10-member delegation of Pakistan Human Development Fund (PHDF), elected representatives and notables of the area accompanied him. The delegation was told surgeries, both major and minor, were carried out at the hospital and lives of dozens of people had been saved. Two male doctors along with a lady doctor examined the patients and free medicines were provided to the quake victims.
