Sir: It is reported that Maulana Abdul Rasheed’s decision to escape from Lal Masjid, wearing a burqa, was based on Istakhara. If we start accepting such arguments, anyone can justify any action on such basis. For example Ms Bhutto can claim similar justification for her deal with General Musharraf who can also make similar claims about the action against Lal Masjid.
There have been other cases where clerics have justified certain actions on the basis of their claimed dreams!
We must be watchful of such arguments, if we are to follow the path of sanity. In fact, I feel that the Federal Shariat Court should consider this matter and issue a suitable ruling to avoid our path to anarchy.
