Shah Rukh Khan is awaiting the release of his upcoming film, ‘Jawan’. While fans are excited to see him on the big screen once again, the Bollywood superstar recently landed in trouble over one of his ads related to online gaming. On Saturday, August 26, afternoon, a group of people gathered outside SRK’s residential place in Mumbai, Mannat, to protest against him for endorsing online gaming apps. Soon, Mumbai Police were deployed outside the actor’s house.

A23, an online rummy portal, recently welcomed Shah Rukh Khan as the Brand Ambassador to the A23 Games Platform. He shot a promo for the app in which he can be heard saying, “Chalo Saath Khelein.” The protest against that was led by Untouch Youth Foundation. The group said that they will be holding a protest against online gaming apps and portals like Junglee Rummy, Zupee, and others. The protestors also talked about their opinion against online gaming apps, saying that these platforms corrupt youth and misguide them.

As per reports, the organisation issued an official statement on the protest, saying, “Famous actors and actresses work in these advertisements and they are working towards misguiding society. The protest will be held outside Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat bungalow on behalf of Untouch India Foundation.”

President of Untouch India Foundation, Krishchandra Adal, said, “The new generation is involved in playing Junglee rummy. If someone is playing Junglee rummy or gambling outside, the police arrest them, but big Bollywood stars promoting online games are misleading the young generation. The Bollywood stars also know it is wrong, but they are getting money so they are promoting them. We make these stars famous by watching their movies and spending our money on them. We demand these advertisements to stop. These apps are illegal, we cannot find them on Google, but these apps are uploaded on private websites.”

Mumbai Police were soon deployed outside Shah Rukh Khan’s house, Mannat, in Bandra, Bandstand. As per reports, around 4-5 people were also detained by police. In a video shared online, Mumbai police can be seen securing the area near Mannat.

‘Jawan’ releases worldwide in theatres on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. It stars Shah Rukh Khan along with Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra and Priyamani. Deepika Padukone will also be seen in the film in a cameo.

The film is touted to be a commercial entertainer and features the actor in a double role – an intelligence officer and a thief. The film was shot across Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan and Aurangabad. Anirudh Ravichander was chosen to compose for the film, and would thus mark his debut as a solo composer in Bollywood.
