Sir: I live in an old neighbourhood of Lahore. While there are many other problems that are certainly not going away in my lifetime, there are some that need immediate attention from the authority. Topmost among them is the issue of open sewage channels in streets where insects, especially mosquitoes, breed and threaten the entire population of the city with an outbreak of a deadly disease. Lahore’s municipal authorities must address this issue before this turns into a public health disaster.
