Medical facilities needed

Author: Dhirendra Sharma

Sir: Health is a basic need and the right of every citizen. Panjgoor is one of the largest districts of Balochistan having four tehsils (sub-districts). The district owns a civil hospital for a population of almost 300,000. A brief observation of this hospital would show there are many doctors who are not performing their duties. It leads to a shameful reality that the hospital lacks basic amenities for the treatment of ailing people who cannot pay for private hospitals and the quality of care is limited by the lack of technology and medicines. It is facing a shortage of doctors, ambulances, nursing services and medicines. The government needs to take steps and provide the patients with better facilities.
