You did us proud captain — II

Author: Dhirendra Sharma

Sir: Heartiest congratulations to our green team for playing an outstanding game despite the narrow defeat by India in the semi-final. We are proud of our boys; they put up a great fight throughout their World Cup campaign. We should stand by them and not put them down when they lose.

Pakistan played the game in the true spirit and took the loss in the most sporting way possible. Of course the manner of this defeat hurt a lot, but we gained a lot from this tournament overall. Winning and losing are part of the game. Defeat is not a failure unless we have not tried our best. And we are glad that our players did their best.

Afridi, you do not need to say sorry because we love you and we are proud of our green shirts. It was your dynamic leadership that took Pakistan into this semi-final. Thank you for providing us an amazing game throughout the tournament and thank you for uniting our nation.
