You did us proud captain — I

Author: Dhirendra Sharma

Sir: Like most Pakistanis, I too was disappointed at Pakistan’s defeat in the ICC Cricket World Cup. However, a couple of months ago there were very few who believed that this team would even make it to the semi-finals. If we draw a comparison of this team with the Pakistani squads of previous world cups, this team stands nowhere, but the performance shown by this team in the tournament has been par excellence. Here I would like to add that our electronic media during the pre-semi-final stage gave this match the shape of war between the two countries and due to the hype it created, today every Pakistani is extremely disheartened. We need to have faith and stand by our team because this is the time our players need us the most. Afridi sir, I am proud of you and your boys. Do not lose heart and keep your eyes on the next objective. Good luck!
