CHAKWAL: Five members of a family were killed in a collision between truck and a passenger van at Pindi Road in Chakwal on Tuesday.
Six others who were children were also injured. Rescue teams reached the area and shifted the bodies of victims and injured to DHQ hospital.
Among the deceased were three men and two women all belonging to the same family. The deceased have been identified as Abdul Rahima, Abdul Shakoor, Zahid Iqba, Mehvish and Rahila. Their bodies were handed over to the family after the legal formalities.
According to the police, the accident occurred due to overspeeding by the driver.
In March, five members of an extended family were killed while 16 others sustained injuries in a road accident on Chiniot-Lahore Road. Earlier in the same month nine people, including three women and a child, were killed when a jeep fell into a roadside gorge in Mansehra.
