Sir: English is currently one of the most widely spoken and written languages in the world, with some 380 million native speakers. One out of every six persons in the world knows English. It is the primary language of the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and, partly, Canada. In addition, many other countries use it as their second language.
No one can deny the importance of the English language in the present times. It is clear that the English language has become more dominant around the world. Furthermore, the main sources of knowledge such as the internet, magazines, books, etc, are in English. It is therefore imperative to have at least the basic knowledge of English to survive in the 21st century
