Osama: our right to know — II

Author: Naveed Ashraf

Sir: It is a shock to see that such a big event has taken place in an important city of the country surrounded by top institutions of the military and just two hours away from Islamabad. Our authorities are seemingly taken aback. Their ambiguity is serving no purpose; now is the time they come out and tell the nation what they know exactly about the event. If they have a hand in bringing down the world’s most wanted fugitive, then they should tell this to the world in clear words, but, if it really is a surprise for them, they should take the responsible elements to task and restore the country’s honour, dignity and the integrity of our national institutions. No one in the world seems to be buying the confused story the Pakistani government is trying to sell inside and outside the country.
