University of Karachi VC visits Islamia University Bahawalpur

Vice Chancellor University of Karachi Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood Iraqi visited the Islamia University of Bahawalpur on Tuesday along with a delegation. He emphasized on mutual cooperation of universities for high quality of research and teaching. He said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has made extraordinary development and expansion in the past years. He said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur under the leadership of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob has shown extraordinary performance in every department. New programs launched especially in line with the market needs, such as Nursing, Allied Health Sciences and Artificial Intelligence, are a reflection of their excellent vision for the development of this area. He appreciated the research activities of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in the field of agriculture, especially in the field of food security, and the collaboration at the national and international level. On this occasion, he shed light on the steps taken in the University of Karachi. He said that for high quality education and teaching in universities, connections and cooperation with international institutions are very important and in this regard agreements have been made with the best universities of different countries. He said that academia and industry linkages are also very important so that students can get better job opportunities and the industry can also benefit from the research done in the university. Emphasizing on the faculty development program, he said that the faculty development program is very important for increasing the efficiency of the faculty and the University of Karachi is giving full emphasis to it. Prof. Dr. Raees Muhammad Akhtar, Chairman Medical Laboratory Technology gave a briefing to the Vice Chancellor University of Karachi. On this occasion, Dr. Shahzad Ali Gill informed about the establishment of Public Administration Department in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the ongoing teaching activities in it and said that more than 350 students are studying BS and MS in Public Administration in the Islamia University Bahawalpur. Director Press Media and Publications Shahzad Ahmed Khalid said on this occasion that in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, curricular and co-curricular activities have been given full attention. According to the vision of the Vice Chancellor, student societies have been established to highlight their leadership skills. Similarly, Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival and Bahawalpur Trade Fair are two such initiatives of Islamia University Bahawalpur which have become the identity of Bahawalpur at the international level along with improving the soft image of Pakistan.
