LAHORE: The President PGA Open Golf Championship 2023 proceeds into the final phase at the alluring PAF Skyview Golf Course in Lahore. As the race for honours in amateur category stands, the going looks arduous and demanding for the front line golf playing amateurs. While the top ranking amateur, Qasim Ali Khan, is just a little ahead in the contest, there are five well equipped players bunched together, one stroke behind Qasim Ali Khan. Score wise Qasim is placed at a two rounds aggregate score of 148, and his five forceful adversaries are at an aggregate score of 149. These aspiring and motivated young ones are Nowsherwan Aslam, Nouman Ilyas, Hamza Bilal, Damil Ataullah and Hussain Hamid. That will make the competitive fight in the final round unyielding and enormously severe. In the women’s section the leader after two rounds on Friday was Hamna Amjad. She plays to a handicap of two and is all geared up to improve her WAGR rankings. Her two-round scores were 74 and 77 and two rounds aggregate was 151.One stroke behind her were placed Daniya Syed (handicap one) and Abeeha Syed (handicap three). At a score of 155 was Parkha Ijaz and Bushra Fatima, the little one at 160.
