Attendance problem in KU

Author: Daily Times

Sir: I want to draw the attention of the authorities of the Karachi University (KU) towards a very important issue. Students admitted in the evening classes are not conscientious about their attendance and do not take classes regularly. They either come to the university to take part in political activities or to spend time with friends. Some students appear only in the mid-term and semester examinations and that shows their seriousness towards studies. I can proudly say I am one of the three students of my class who has a perfect attendance, hence this issue is of great importance to me. I feel very demoralised that there is not a lot of difference between my performance and all those students who only appear to take examinations.

I request the concerned authorities of the KU to implement the rule strictly regarding poor attendance and not allow the students who have attendance under 70 percent to appear in semester examinations.
