Equal at last!

Author: Daily Times

Sir: I read news regarding Air India that it was making a loss of nearly $ 1.9 million every day. Air India is run by the government of India and is a government organisation like Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). During the last few years, it is probably one of those few things where it could be said that the organisational ability of the Indian government is at par with that of the Pakistan government. Pakistani government organisations like PIA, Pakistan Steel Mills, Pakistan Railways, WAPDA and many others, are running in huge losses because of corruption, mismanagement and undeserved political appointments.

There is no hope for this democratic government to bring these organisations to a profitable stage; now it is hoped that the next government will improve the condition of these organisations.
