Across the board respect

Author: Daily Times

Sir: India has refused to send its hockey team to Pakistan on security grounds. One fails to understand India’s mistrust regarding Pakistan when it comes to sports. If Pakistan could take care of its Indian business counterparts with respect and dignity as it did when a 150-member delegation came to Lahore in February this year, led by India’s Commerce Minister Anand Sharma, why would it not do the same for their sports teams?

This mindset goes against the spirit of cooperation and trust especially in the wake of granting MFN status to India.

As a Pakistani, I feel humiliated and want our government to straighten things out with India and demand across the board respect.
