Criminal element in the KU

Author: Radha Kumar

Sir: Pakistan’s second largest university, and known for producing acclaimed scholars, the Karachi University has become a hub of criminal activities. Political parties use students to square personal vendettas. The politicisation of the university is causing stress to students who are serious about their studies and future. Even the heavy contingent of Rangers deployed in the university has been unable to manage the rogue element. Innocent lives are lost due to clashes among rival parties.

Who is to be blamed for this situation? A country where academic institutions are not safe and are turned into battlegrounds, where else could one look for peace and harmony?
