Walking: a natural healer

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Nature gives us many opportunities to remain fit and healthy. We at times look at expensive and unnecessary things to keep ourselves in good shape, like joining gyms, etc. However, walking is considered one of the best exercises of all. Not only does it keep one healthy but helps in fighting a number of diseases. Doctors recommend walking for patients of type two diabetes. Three to four hours a week of walking reduces the risk of breast cancer in women. The digestion system, depression and headaches have easy cures in brisk walking. A sedentary life not only induces depression but invites multiple diseases. One of the major problems with people not given to walking or any exercise is obesity. Walking is the simplest and easiest way to get rid of those extra pounds.
