Naqvi assures full support to Murad to tackle Biparjoy

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi made a phone call to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, assuring complete cooperation from the Punjab government to tackle the tropical cyclone Biparjoy.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that rescue services, including Rescue 1122 and PDMA, along with other line departments, are fully prepared to assist our brothers and sisters in Sindh, and the government is also ready to support the Sindh government in terms of population’s relocation from coastal areas. ‘We consider it a national duty to provide every possible assistance to the people of Sindh as our own.’ Mohsin Naqvi also alerted the line departments in Punjab for extending relief efforts to the Sindh government.

CM Murad Ali Shah expressed his gratitude to CM Mohsin Naqvi for the assurance of cooperation. He confirmed that the situation was being closely monitored, and both governments will keep each other informed if the need arises.

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi presided over a meeting at his office where it was revealed that the objective of achieving 100% cotton sowing had been accomplished in Faisalabad, Sahiwal, and Sargodha. During the meeting, secretary agriculture department presented a report on cotton cultivation and the supply and demand of urea in the province.

The meeting expressed its satisfaction with the attainment of this significant milestone by the provincial government. The chief minister commended the performance of the agriculture department, administration, and field staff for their dedicated efforts in cultivating cotton over an expansive area of more than 4.6 million acres of land.

Furthermore, the CM emphasized that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure the timely provision of urea fertilizer to the farmers, with appropriate funds being allocated accordingly. He reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguard the interests of cotton growers at all costs and directed the administration to ensure an adequate supply of urea for the farmers. The diligent collaboration between the government and the hard work of the farmers has resulted in an exceptional increase in the cultivation area, and the farmers can expect a rewarding outcome for their efforts in the current year, he concluded.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman P&D, secretary finance, secretary information, and others, while the chief secretary participated via video link.Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has ordered for early issuance of no-objection certificates to nurses seeking overseas employment. He has also directed to functionalise the nursing college at Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute without delay.

In a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office to discuss nursing reforms, it was agreed to introduce both morning and evening shifts in 40 nursing colleges across Punjab to accommodate the growing number of students. Additionally, a monthly scholarship of Rs. 31,000 will be provided to nurses during their training. Furthermore, the meeting approved an increment in the remuneration for instructors, nurses, and doctors on a per-lecture basis.

The chief minister also called for a comprehensive plan to enhance the standards of allied health professionals and education.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Ministers Dr Javed Akram, Dr Jamal Nasir, Vice-Chancellor King Edward Medical University Dr Mahmood Ayyaz, Vice-Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice-Chancellor University of Health Sciences, secretary health, secretary finance, secretary C&W, DG Nursing, Secretary Punjab Medical Faculty, and others. Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has expressed profound grief over the loss of lives in a traffic accident near the Satiana area of Faisalabad.

He has conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the grieving families and instructed the administration to ensure the provision of the best medical facilities to the injured. Additionally, he has issued orders to take legal action against the irresponsible driver accountable for the incident, while also demanding a comprehensive report on the matter.
