LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspended spinner Mohammad Nawaz over his reported involvement in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) spot-fixing scandal on Wednesday.

Nawaz has been suspended by the PCB for two months over his suspected involvement in the match fixing saga which gripped the second edition of Pakistan’s premier cricketing event the ‘Pakistan Super League’.

The ban will be imposed from 16th May till 16th June.

Along with the ban, Nawaz’s central contract was also suspended.

He would also have to pay a Rs 200,000 fine for violating PCB’s anti-corruption code.

Nawaz confesses to not informing PCB about bookies offers.

It is pertinent to mention here that All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz had confessed before the anti-corruption unit (ACU) earlier on Wednesday that he had failed to inform Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the offers which he got from the bookies.

The cricketer admitted that bookmakers approached him during the Australia tour, and stated that he was guilty of not reporting the incident to the board timely.

It has been disclosed after Nawaz’s confession that the ACU is happy over his cooperation, and has decided to give him relaxation regarding the punishment.
