Sir: After spending 20 years in an Indian jail, Dr Khalil Chishti, a Pakistani microbiologist, has returned to Pakistan. The Indian Supreme Court granted bail to the 80-year-old Pakistani scientist on humanitarian basis. This gesture of goodwill shall go a long way in mending fences between the two countries. There are thousands of people still rotting in Indian and Pakistani jails for no other reason than that they inadvertently crossed the border. This issue should be resolved finally so that people could lead their lives in peace.
