Learning from China

Author: Daily Times

Sir: It is ironic that our leaders visit China frequently but they never try to learn the secret behind that nation’s success. They have never tried to apply Chinese policies and working methodologies to Pakistan, such as how China has successfully controlled its population growth and how it has made its women a force indispensable to the progress of the nation by letting them work alongside men without discrimination. China has used its natural resources optimally to improve the quality of life of its citizens and is currently meeting as much as 80 percent of its energy requirements from coal. In Pakistan, we have massive coal reserves but the will to explore and use them remains dormant.
