ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah has asked the federal government to form a judicial commission to investigate the tragic APS massacre case.

“A judicial commission should be constituted on Army public school tragedy. If a commission can be constituted on the death of a female elephant at Lahore zoo then why can it not be formed on tragedy of 144 innocent children who were martyred in Army Public School in Peshawar during a suicide attack?” he said while speaking in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

“Sobs of parents who lost their beloved ones should be heard and government should fulfil its responsibility,” he added.

“The Army Public school tragedy took place in 2014, I met parents of the children who were martyred during the Peshawar massacre a day before. I respect their sentiments and feelings,” he added.

He stated that the whole nation had united after the Peshawar attack but the promises made to the parents of the martyred children had not been worked upon yet.

“This house demands from the government that a judicial commission be constituted for holding inquiry into Army Public school incident that investigates what message terrorists wanted to give by martyring 144 innocent children,” he said.

The parents of the martyred children had asked Shah for representation in the Parliament “And now it’s my responsibility to raise their voice, therefore I as a Member of Parliament demand of government to set up a commission for conducting inquiry into incident of Army Public School.”

Khursheed Shah even went on to state that the the ruling party is not serious enough regarding the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) reforms issue, and claimed that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) did not delay the introduction of reforms in Gilgit Baltistan (GB).
