Sir: Unfortunately, people in Pakistan have been introduced to a double standard in education. The Government of Pakistan has established many schools, colleges and universities throughout the country to educate its people. However, students from these institutions have been found wandering after completing their studies due to the label tagged on them of government schools and colleges instead of a private institution. Why has government allowed the private sector to introduce a curriculum of its own choice in schools? Private schools charge high fees but since education from these institutions guarantees jobs, people readily pay for whatever is charged from them. It is time for the government to think about the quality of government institutions and upgrade the system to cater to the needs of those 80 percent who cannot afford the high fees of private schools and colleges.
