Sir: Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has embarked on a path that not many in the annals of the entire history of Pakistan have dared to tread. He has taken suo motu notice against his own son, Arsalan Chaudhry. The dilemma for him of being between the devil and the deep blue sea would be that even if the allegations genuinely prove to be false and Arsalan is proved innocent, critics are likely to raise fingers. Therefore, in order not to be dubbed as a ‘father judge’, the CJP might sentence his son unwarrantedly or sentence him more severely than he deserved. May Allah (SWT), the Ultimate Judge, guide and help the CJP in this matter.
