Sir: According to a report in The Times of India, the border security forces of Pakistan and India, Pakistan Rangers and India’s Border Security Force (BSF), have agreed to have women platoon commanders for the daily flag-lowering ceremony held simultaneously by the two forces at the Attari-Wagah border. The aim is to reduce tension between the two countries during the ceremony. Will not the tension and anger multiply to astronomical levels if women are posted instead of men? Food for thought.
