The usual response

Author:

Sir: I am very glad to have this platform in your prestigious newspaper for students like us who can pen the nation’s mournful stories so as to grab the attention of concerned authorities. On March 3, 2013, Abbas Town in Karachi witnessed the same sort of miserable incident that had taken place in Hazara Town and Alamdar Road in Quetta. Once again, scores of people were martyred and injured, buildings were shattered, businesses and economy devastated, education turned upside down, strikes observed, and chaos and mania reigned supreme. Such dreadful conditions and all we received were mere statements of condolence by our politicians. We once again saw the usual accompaniments as well: financial compensation to the victims, notices by the Supreme Court (SC), raids by the security forces and apprehension of so-called terrorists. Is this the solution? I grill all the concerned authorities, who claim to be representatives of the whole nation, if they are doing enough. On the other hand, I have one more question for my innocent and oblivious nation: is this your fate?

In order to get an answer to all these questions, we will have to elevate ourselves and our integrity so that we can change our fate. This is the only way and it will prove itself as the best solution.
