Fixing the situation in Liyari

Author:

Sir: Human Rights Watch (HRW) is playing a very important role in this day and age. Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are a strong part of it but violation of human rights can be blatantly seen in the city of Karachi where target killings and kidnappings are nothing new. However, what is new is the desecration of dead bodies — a shameless act. This is an act that is prohibited in Islam very strictly but it is going on openly in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Why are such people so powerful? Who is supporting them? Why can our police and rangers not take serious action? If someone is from Liyari, why do they feel so insecure? Our government should take these questions seriously. Liyari really needs an effective operation to take place so that there is peace there otherwise we will have to pay for it in an even harsher manner than we already are.

I appeal to the caretaker government to do something for Liyari .The bad situation of Liyari is ruining the children of Liyari; all they are doing is snatching mobile phones and creating violence in the city without any reason. Something must be done.
