Sir: Farooq Sattar held a press conference on April 30, 2013 with the PPP and ANP representatives. He said that whoever was terrorising the country had done everyone a great favour because the MQM had re-joined the PPP even though it had left the PPP two months back. Now, when the three parties have united to face the common enemy, i.e. the terrorists, coupled with the apprehensions they have about the establishment wanting to keep them away from the elections, why do they not adjust their seats in the entire country and field only one candidate of one party in a constituency, i.e. the candidates of the MQM should withdraw in favour of the candidates of the PPP and ANP in one constituency, the candidates of the PPP should withdraw in favour of the candidates of the MQM and ANP in another constituency and the candidates of the ANP should withdraw in favour of the candidates of the PPP and MQM in still another constituency? If they do this, they will sweep the polls, gain more or less equal seats in the entire country and will form a coalition government as before, with a partnership ‘at will’ to play the game of quit and re-join as in the past.
