LARKANA: As many as 93 cases of anti-corruption were scrutinised during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Commissioner, Larkana Division, Muhammad Abbas Baloch, in his office here on Wednesday.
These cases were presented by Deputy Director, Anti-Corruption Establishment, Larkana Division, Imran Ali.
The departments whose cases were presented in the meeting include Highways, Registration Office, Zakat, Food, Revenue, Police, Education, Irrigation, Sindh Small Industries, District Accounts Office, Public Health Engineering, Local Government and others.
Commissioner who is also Chairman, Anti-Corruption Committee-II, ordered action against as many as 44 corruption cases out of 93 which include food, revenue, Ushr & Zakat and health departments and other cases were deferred due to non-presence of concerned department officers.
It was also decided that fresh 15 FIRs will be registered against officials of different departments, two cases will be challaned and 13 cases will be sent for departmental action/investigation.
As many as 13 matters were closed for non-availability of proper evidence of the related matters and one case of higher grade officer was referred to ACC-I for further necessary action as per law.
ACE Assistant Director Noorullah Shaikh, Abdul Sattar Chandio and other officers also attended the meeting.
