Top cops assume charge in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: Raja Riffat Mukhtar and Dr Akhtar Abbas have assumed the charge of regional police officer (RPO) and district police officer (DPO) respectively on Wednesday. Earlier, Mukhtar was serving as a deputy inspector general VVIP Security Special Branch Lahore and Abbas as Operations Wing AIG Lahore. After assuming the charge, Raja called the first meeting with his subordinates and discussed the crime and security situation in the region. He said that his office is always open for the people. Corruption in police would not be tolerated, he said. He said police officials were protectors of lives and property. He urged the police officers to focus their attention on curbing crime. He said that delay in case registration will not be tolerated.
