plea to Altaf Hussain

Author:

Sir: I hereby advise Altaf Hussain, the chief of the MQM, to fight his case legally in London’s courts in case he is detained in the murder case of Imran Farooq; he can rightly hope for justice from the local courts. In my opinion, his stand of not hiring advocates and pleading his own case in London’s courts is not advisable. He must hire a team of renowned lawyers in order to ensure justice is given to him. At the same time, I request him to ensure ethnic harmony in Sindh in case of his possible detention. This is a must as possible ethnic violence will disturb further the fragile peace of Karachi. I appeal to Altaf Hussain to issue clear instructions to his party members and sympathisers in Sindh not to take the law into their own hands in case of his detention by London’s police and urge them to strengthen ethnic unity in Sindh, particularly in Karachi.
