Sir: According to WAPDA, a sum of Rs 9.3 billion has been arranged by issuing term finance certificates (TFCs) in collaboration with the leading banks of Pakistan to expedite the construction work on the 969 MW Neelum-Jhelum hydropower project. I appreciate the will and wisdom of State Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali for this great achievement in just five days. His achievement is highly commendable in view of the failure of the previous government to arrange funds for this project. Therefore, I appeal to the prime minister, minister for finance, minister for water and power and State Minister for Water and Power Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali to pay Chinese companies, Pakistani sub-contractors and suppliers immediately before Eid. Moreover, the payment of funds will result in the commencement of construction at full pace and storage of vital supplies before the beginning of winter and snowfall, especially in the Nausheri area.
