Combating the cold

Author:

Sir: The changing weather is considered to be lovely, romantic, poetic and mystic but, at the same time, it is very cold and can be fatal or disastrous. How does one combat this weather? Thermal clothing, hot drinks, proper heating system at home and in the office are required. In foggy weather, travel before sunrise and after sunset should be strictly avoided. The government should also play a pivotal role in making arrangements against the cold in the form of health awareness programmes in winters. A proper vaccination schedule against pneumonia and flu, not only in schools and colleges but also otherwise is the need of the day. On the roads, reflectors and prominent shiny signboards about reduced speed limits must be put up.
