Sir: Finally the year 2013 came to an end. The year was like a roller coaster ride with many ups and downs but we managed to survive. Elections and propaganda of one political party against the other, retirement of the Chief Justice and so much more happened. Basically this was a democratic year of awakening for Pakistanis because they actually used their right of voting.
Moving towards the media, 2013 was the year of our film industry. They gave super hit films like Main Hoon Shahid Afridi, Zinda bhaag, Chambaili and the blockbuster movie Waar. If we talk about drama, the TV industry was not lacking either. However, terrorism was still at its peak. The new government was unable to overcome the greatest problem, which was disappointing because there were lots of promises the politicians had made. Regardless, we as a nation are still hoping for the day when there will be peace all around. With lots of hopes and wishes for this country, I wish a happy new year to everyone.
