Sir: “It will be disastrous for the country to have Narendra Modi as the prime minister of the country,” were the words of Manmohan Singh in his farewell speech. However, Manmohan Singh has already been a disaster as the country’s prime minister by proving inept and impotent in taking any action in scams, corrupt practices, frauds, rapes, scandals in defence deals, etc. Manmohan knows this and is therefore pleading for history to be kinder to him. Also, by his diatribe against Modi, it sums up that the Congress is not much interested in Rahul being the prime minister but it wants to make it amply clear that Modi should not be the prime minister at any cost.
