Sir: The Punjab Youth Festival (PYF) has provided a rare opportunity to the youth to get involved in sports-related activities. Sport plays an important role in making a society civilised. It teaches tolerance and an attitude to forego and accept loss with grace. Nearly 26 countries will be participating in this festival, therefore giving impetus to the tourism industry as well at the same time. Mega sports events like PYF bring together people from different cultures and backgrounds that eventually create national cohesion and an appreciation for diversity, something we need so badly.
