The burden of the common man

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The common man has become so unable to meet his daily needs that he cannot feed his family two decent meals in the day. The government has decided in its ultimate ‘wisdom’ that the prices of petrol and diesel will not be lowered — forget about what international trends tell us. When the international market increases petroleum prices, we are the first ones to jump at doing the same but when there is a decline in international markets, we are made to suffer stagnation. It seems the government is only thinking about its own kitty and does not wish to think at all about the average citizen.
