No end to our plight

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The only thing that seems to be moving up for Pakistanis is the price of just about everything, especially electricity. With inflation reaching new heights of misery and the rupee pretty much taking a beating against the dollar, the price of power — or what we have left of it after the frequent electricity outages — have made life a living hell for the people of this country. We are hard pressed to provide our families with three proper meals, forget about even thinking of some luxuries in life. We toil day and night and still afford only the semblance of a normal existence, and this is the middle class I am talking about. Imagine what the poor majority go through. All this while our leaders reign supreme in their palaces and mansions.
