Disease control

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Deadly diseases are reportedly wreaking havoc on the population of the rural areas of Sindh. Malnutrition is also pervasive in the province. The two nutritionally vulnerable groups are children under the age of two and pregnant and lactating women. Both are dying at an alarming rate in the province. However, in view of the alarming frequency of different deadly diseases in the province, a genuine and well-coordinated preventive strategy with an active involvement of local enlightened people including doctors, paramedical workers, NGO workers, volunteers and teachers is needed before it is too late.
