ISLAMABAD: An investigation revealed a group of swindlers in the capital on Friday. The suspects are involved in land-grabbing and swindling millions of rupees on forged documents.
Ashar Saleem, an employee of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), had been misusing his authority. In connivance with others, he had deprived a litigant of Rs 4 million. An application in this regard has been filed in IHC.
Cases have been registered against accused Ashar Saleem in the Kohsar and Margella police stations. During interrogation, the accused has confessed.
The accused had earlier approached the IHC and promised to return the money. However, later he refused to return the money and presented himself for arrest. Police have sent him into jail on judicial remand,” sources said.
