Tourism in Punjab

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The government of Punjab is going to promote tourism in the province. This is a good sign, though it is a bit late in being initiated. Punjab is full of natural, archaeological and historical sites that need to be promoted to both the local and international communities.

There are multiple benefits of tourism. People can be directly employed at tourist spots while others can earn by establishing businesses there. Locals and foreigners are usually interested in buying local products while indirectly the government can also generate income from tourist resorts. I think that tourism development is a very good step towards a more prosperous Punjab. This should be copied in other parts of the country.
