Sir: I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the unprecedented hike in the prices of essential commodities. During the last few months, prices of goods of daily use have shot up many levels. This rising trend has gone unchecked and as a result, the majority of people with insufficient sources of income are finding it difficult to make ends meet. It seems there is no system to check the unusual increase in prices that has crushed the common man. The regulatory system seems to have collapsed completely. The government must rise to the occasion and do something about it.
