Justice and the rule of law

Author: Daily Times

Sir: We live in a society where ‘injustice’ has become a norm. Our leaders and those in power make every effort to manipulate the system. Democracy demands adherence to and enforcement of the rule of law. Absence of the rule of law means absence of democracy. This is why people question democracy in Pakistan when they see the rule of law subservient to the power of looter, plunderers, target killers, hoarders and terrorists.
